Target Ad

Dress (worn as a skirt), shirt, shoes, watch: Target. Scarf: thrifted.

I'm a little bit of a walking Target ad today, but let me assure you, that was completely unintentional.  Too bad none of the pieces are recent purchases, cause if they had been, maybe I could have made a commission from Target for being a living billboard.

I bought this oversized tee shirt off the clearance rack about 2 years ago, and have just recently figured out how to wear it.  When I bought it, the whole 'knot your shirt at the waist' trend wasn't really around, so I had no idea what to do with a top that was too big to be a shirt and too small to be a dress.  Obviously, this purchase was made back in my 'I can't turn down a deal this good' phase.  I'm glad that I now actually think about how I can wear an item before I buy it.

I've also added two new items to my shop today.  Click the name under the photo to go directly to the item's page in the shop.

Blooming Beauty

Dress: vintage, for sale in my store. Shoes: Report via Ross.

If you missed my announcement late last night, I've opened an etsy shop, and this dress is my favorite piece that's in stock right now.  The floral print is just lovely, and it's got pockets!!  Dresses with pockets are always the best, am I right, ladies?

I chose to wear this for this month's Everybody Everywear back to school theme because it kind of reminds me of something one of my young, sweet elementary school teachers would have worn, but still feels modern and fresh.

If you haven't already, I'd love for you to check out Ferris Wheel Vintage.  I'll be stocking new items every day this week, and as a special treat to my blog readers, you can get 15% off your purchase with the coupon code fashionforsanity from now through the end of September!

EBEW - Back To School

Huge Announcement! - Opening Up Shop

So it's about 3am, which is kind of a strange time for a huge announcement, but I've been up working on preparations for making said announcement, and now it's late.

Anyway, you may or may not have noticed that I've got a new little thumbnail over on the left there.  That's there because, drum roll, please, I've opened an Etsy shop!!!

I am so ecstatic to finally announce the grand opening of Ferris Wheel Vintage.  I've been toying with the idea of starting a little business since early spring, and late this summer, I finally decided to go for it!  I started doing research and making preparations in July, and it's just now all come together to the point where I could open up shop.

Ferris Wheel Vintage carries beautiful, one of a kind, hand picked vintage clothing and accessories that are in wonderful condition and are in need of a loving home.  For this first Grand Opening week, I'll be adding new items to the shop every day.  After this week, I'll be restocking every Monday.  It's starting out small now, but I've already got plenty of merchandise ready to grow the store.

I'd love it if you could check it out and spread the word!  As a special thank you for all of my lovely readers who continue to come back and read my ramblings, I'd like to give you a coupon code for 15% off, should you find anything that you like.  Just type the coupon code fashionforsanity at checkout.  And if you don't see anything you like right now, keep checking back; the code will be good for the rest of September!

Also, be sure to 'like' Ferris Wheel Vintage's Facebook page for more exclusive discounts and important announcements!

Here's what's currently in stock.  Click on the name of the item to go directly to its page in the shop.

Floral Shorts as Sweet as May

Shorts: vintage. Shirt, necklace, sunglasses: thrifted. Shoes: Target.

From the second I laid eyes on these shorts, it was love.  I don't think I've ever seen a prettier floral in my life.  Plus, they are wonderfully comfortable.  Close second on my love list is this statement necklace which I snagged for 5 bucks.  I hardly ever find jewelry while thrifting, so this was a particularly exciting find.  But don't worry, floral shorts, you're still my number 1.

Heat and Hibiscus

Dress: vintage. Vest: Gap, via thrift. Shoes, necklace: Target. Ring: gifted.

As much as I am dying for fall to roll around, I'm trying my best to make the most out of my summer clothes while I still can (ie, when it's still crazy hot).  I wear most of my clothes year-round (thank you, layering!), but certain pieces, like this tropical print dress, have to be retired for the colder months.  Wearing hibiscus flowers in the fall just wouldn't feel right.
