Cozy Cowl

Today was the first day this winter that I've worn my wool peacoat.  Usually by this time in January, it's become a staple, but the weather has just been so unseasonably warm.  Today, however, winter finally decided to step up its game, and it got cold.  I was actually quite unprepared for the cold and realized that I don't think I have enough sweaters.  I dug this one out of the back of my closet; I've had it for ages, but it's super cozy and was a quick and comfortable outfit paired with my favorite jeans and comfy boots. (Added bonus for the fuzzy socks in those boots.)

Leather, Lace, Denim, Suede

Over break, my mom brought this jacket down from the attic and asked if it would be something that I might want.  Then, she started to get a little attached to it.  It was her favorite back in the 70's and was well loved, and she wasn't really sure if she wanted me to take it.  I assured her that I would most definitely wear it and take care not to expose it to rain or stain it or anything of the like.  So here it is in all its vintage suede glory.  Thanks, mom!

I've been having to really control the urges to wear this denim shirt everyday so as not to neglect the other tops in my closet.  But seriously, I'm obsessed with how versatile a denim or chambray button up can be; I can't stop pinning outfit ideas!

Another Rainy Day

It rained all day today with the exception of the 5 minutes during which we managed to snap these pictures.  I'm getting tired of it being cloudy; I really want to get back to wearing my sunglasses collection and covering up how terribly tired my eyes look. 

In case this outfit looks kind of familiar, it's because I wore a very similar outfit a little while back.  Something about this jacket just makes me want to pair it with black and white, and, in this case, shades of gray.  

Also, on a side note, my hair looks funky.  Don't think I'll be wearing it this way again.

Oversized

I got some interesting comments from my peers regarding this outfit today.  For example: "You look like you jumped out of the 80's" and "Where are your pants?"  However, considering the sweater, boots, necklace, and possibly the purse are all from the 80's, and that I was indeed not wearing pants, I suppose those were valid comments.  However, I find wearing a hugely oversized sweater as a dress a perfectly good reason to forgo pants.

Also, I curled my hair this morning.  Not that you can tell, considering it is pretty much straight in these pictures.  I suppose the humidity was just too high from the rain yesterday to allow my curls to hold.  Tomorrow, it's supposed to rain all day, so I will test the new hair's ability to be styled up.  Not really sure what to do with it now that it's not long enough for a sock bun.  I love the new 'do, but I sure am going to miss the ease of wearing a sock on top of my head.

First Day Back and New 'Do

Today was my first day of class of the spring semester, and I must admit that, while I didn't particularly want to go back to class quite yet, it was nice to have a reason to actually get dressed this morning.  Working and sitting around sick over break really did have me missing actual clothing. 

So this is my new haircut.  I straightened it this morning, but of course, it rained, and it poofed up a little. I am really excited to start playing with different ways to curl it.  My hairdresser curled it when she was done cutting it and it was absolutely amazing.  I know I won't be able to do it as well as her, but I think I'll be able to work something out.  

I'm really happy with it.  I've been growing my hair out for 3 and a half years, and it just wasn't healthy anymore.  I was definitely ready for a chance, and I love it.

New Years Eve

I know that we're already a number of days into the new year, but better late than never, right?  New Year's Eve is always an excuse to wear something that glitters or shines, so I felt like this dress was a fun choice.  It's really comfortable, too. 

I'm headed back to school today and will resume classes and my regular posting schedule on Monday.  Also, I got my hair cut today.  I think I got at least 6 inches taken off.  I absolutely love it.  Debut pictures on Monday!

Big, exciting news here!!
